Founded in 2012, Green Stone Journeys operates to bring balance and wellness to a travel experience for a fusion that will give inspiration to every traveler. We work with yoga teachers and adventure guides from all over to bring exciting travel experiences to the wellness seekers and we are inspired by the many ways travel can open our minds, hearts and bring worlds together. Our experience working in tourism throughout Latin America for over many years brings a passion to adventure and lots of healthy kicks for a unique travel holiday.

Tara has been a yoga teacher for over fifteen years and has a B.A degree in Anthropology and International Development studies, and a Masters degree in Environmental Studies from Canada. She has been an Environmental Educator, global traveler and Hatha yoga teacher and has spent many years living internationally including India where she studied Indian philosophy and culture at the University of Rajasthan, studied Japanese calligraphy in Japan, researched the culture of use of medicinal plants and Ethnobotany in Costa Rica for her Masters degree and has spent over fifteen years living and working in various forms of tourism throughout Latin America.

Tara has spent most of her life in wild and natural places and often seeks them out when she can. She has learned to make traditional herbal medicine, working with herbalists and through the study of medicinal plants has made herbal tinctures for Naturopathic Doctors in Toronto. She has also developed education programs on the preservation of medicinal plants, was a Director of environmental education programs for nature schools and has worked as an Environmental Consultant in Latin America.

Yoga has always been a way of life for Tara. She has always found herself most focused and inspired while on the mat. She has been a student of yoga for over 20 years and has immersed herself in various techniques and forms throughout India, Canada, the U.S and parts of South America with teachers and different forms of yoga study. She completed and was certified for her Yoga Teacher Training in 2003.

Green Stone Journeys are for those seeking to travel with meaningful experiences of the places we visit, the people we meet and of our own personal journey.
